Greetings Medical Families!

Fall has arrived and with it, the start of a busy academic year at Warren Alpert Medical School. From helping first-year students try on their white coats to hearing about the research projects executed over the summer- it’s hard not to get swept into the energy and excitement!

I hope you will share in the experience during Family Weekend, October 13–14, 2017. This is your chance to tour the Medical School, hear from faculty members, and spend some time with your student. Registration is open until October 12 and we have many great events planned for you.

If you can’t make it to campus this time, you can still stay in the loop using the resources and links provided below.

Important Academic Dates

Undergraduates:

- October 9: Indigenous Peoples' Day; No classes
- November 22–26: Thanksgiving Recess
- December 8: Reading Period begins (option and at the discretion of the instructor)
- December 13–21: Final Exam Period (Exam periods are 9 a.m.–noon and 2–5 p.m.)

Medical Students:

October 7-9: Fall Weekend
October 23-27: Clinical quarter two; vacation
November 22–26: Thanksgiving Recess
December 15: First-year, second-year; first-semester classes end
December 16- January 1: Winter Recess
December 25- January 1: Clinical quarter three; vacation
