Hello Medical Families!
I am Ellen Schulte and am excited to be the new manager of communications and engagement in the Office of Biomedical Advancement at the Warren Alpert Medical School. I hope to have the chance to meet many of you at future events but in the meantime, you will be hearing from me regularly through this newsletter, which I hope includes some items of interest to you.
Family Weekend was a success!
We had a festive weekend jam-packed with research forums, student and faculty panels, a student-alumni networking event, and the always emotional White Coat Ceremony for first-year medical students. The excitement on campus was palpable! Thanks to those of you who were able to make the trip to Providence. I hope you got a taste for all that Brown has to offer PLME and medical school students. If you weren’t able to attend, I hope to see you on campus soon.
We invite you to take a quick survey about the weekend's festivities as well as check out some photos on our Flickr page and a video of the White Coat Ceremony on the YouTube channel. Highlights include:
- Dean Jack A. Elias remarks (at minute 2:35)
- Student Reflection by Liz Taliaferro MD’20 (at minute 11:00)
- Charles O. Cooke, M.D. Distinguished Visiting Lectureship presented by Sutchin R. Patel ’00 MD’04 RES’09 (at minute 24:10)
- Coating of Students (at minute 39:05)
Stay tuned for an upcoming video in which some MD’23 students share their excitement for their White Coat milestone.
Best,
Ellen Schulte
