Greetings Medical Alumni!
Friday was a special day at the Warren Alpert Medical School and across the country as fourth-year medical students awaited their Match Day envelopes. At 12 noon, our students opened their envelopes to find out where they would begin the next chapter — their residency!
Match Day is the beginning of a new journey for our aspiring physicians. Below you will find some interesting statistics about the MD class of 2019:
- 19 students will remain in Rhode Island to train at Brown-affiliated programs
- 69 students will remain in the Northeast
- 55 students matched to primary care programs
- 21 students matched to various surgical programs

In the weeks leading up to Match Day, we caught up with a few of our soon-to-be physicians about their time as medical students and how they are looking forward to their next big chapter. Check out their stories here.
