Brown Alpert Medical School

Alumni Newsletter

March/April 2020

Dear Medical Alumni,

We hope this month’s newsletter finds you and your loved ones safe and well in these uncertain and challenging times. To those of you who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic – putting your call to help others ahead of all else – we thank you for your tremendous effort and dedication.

One thing we know remains true, especially in a crisis, is the strength of the Brown community. It’s important to stay connected with your fellow Brown medical alumni now more than ever. Take the time to make that phone call to your Medical School roommate, send an email to a former lab partner or organize a Zoom gathering of friends. The Medical Alumni Association is also here for you, so please do not hesitate to reach out. In the meantime, the following information should provide some understanding about how the Medical School is operating under these extenuating circumstances.

Inside Insight
As you can imagine, student life looked a little different this past month. Medical School leadership and the Office of Medical Education-Continuous Quality Improvement (OME-CQI) and the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) have been working diligently to inform students about how learning will continue through the academic year. If you would like to read more about the status of each class, please visit our newly created COVID-19 Related Communications within the Brown Community page

Staying Connected
