Dear Medical Families,

We hope this month’s newsletter finds you and your loved ones safe and well in these challenging times. We trust that your students are settling into the new “normal,” maintaining their studies, and staying in touch with the Brown Medical Community. We are here for all of you, so please do not hesitate to reach out. In the meantime, the following information should provide some understanding about how the Medical School is operating under these extenuating circumstances.

Inside Insight
As you can imagine, student life looked a little different this past month. Below you will find an update for each class year provided by faculty and staff from the Office of Medical Education-Continuous Quality Improvement (OME-CQI) and the Office of Student Affairs (OSA).

  • MD'20 students are mostly done with their graduation requirements. Those who are not are working on independent study plans to finish. Read more... 
  • MD'21 students are on pause from their clinical rotations. Students had only one clerkship or elective left to finish before entering the fourth year and the current plan is for them to return to finish it. Read more…
  • MD'22 students are studying for the Step 1 exam. Faculty are working with them individually on how to approach their study period along with strategies around when to schedule this exam. Read more…
  • MD'23 students are taking a virtual curriculum. The anatomy course was supplemented by the Complete Anatomy app to allow for virtual dissection. Read more…
