Season’s Greetings Medical Families!

As we reflect on this year, it’s impressive to think about all that the Brown Medical community accomplished during the Fall semester, even as COVID-19 led us all into uncharted, virtual territory. As we approach the end of 2020, we wish you and yours a holiday season and new year filled with rejuvenation, health and happiness.

Inside Insight
This month, in addition to our students’ perspectives, the offices of Medical Education, Student Affairs, and Diversity and Multicultural Affairs also provided an inside look at what’s been happening at the Medical School:

  • MD’21: As they count the days until the all-important Match Day (less than 100 days away), MD’21 students are fully immersed in virtual residency interviews. Read more here.
  • MD’22: Almost halfway done with their third year of medical school, MD’22s are making their way through the different clinical rotations. Read more here.
  • MD’23: This year, a service learning requirement was added to the Doctoring curriculum. In a time where students spend a lot of time away from the Medical School community, this new requirement brought them closer to the Rhode Island community. Read more here.
  • MD’24: First-years are finishing lectures on hypersensitivity reactions, the molecular basis of cancer, toxicology, pharmacology, and quality improvement. They have been inspired to see faculty and staff continue to support their medical education in this entirely virtual format with students scattered across multiple states. Read more here.

Deans Tunkel, George and Vrees have also shared some news from inside the Medical School. Please click here to read more.
