Hello Medical Alumni!

Things are in full swing at The Warren Alpert Medical School. First-year students are still beaming from receiving their white coats, in-person and virtual events are being planned, and halls and classrooms at the Medical School are buzzing once again with students, staff and faculty.

Family Weekend is October 15-17
Brown University is planning an in-person Family Weekend and the Medical School is hosting a few events on Saturday, October 16, that might be of interest to alumni who live locally or happen to be in the Providence area.

  • Faculty forum (9 a.m.): Social Media, Violence, and Social Isolation Among At-Risk Adolescents with Megan Ranney, MD MPH'10 RES'08, and Nicole Nugent, PhD, from the Brown-Lifespan Center for Digital Health.
  • The Ruth B. Sauber Distinguished Alumni Lectureship (11 a.m.): Doctor You: How Technology Will Give Us More Health with Less Health Care given by Joel Selanikio MD’92.
  • Networking opportunity (12:30 p.m.): A chance for alumni and current medical students to meet in an informal setting to discuss anything from what it’s like living in a particular city to residency interview tips. For any alum looking to mentor the next generation, this event is a great place to start! To participate in this specific event, please register here.

Visit the Medical Family Weekend website for more information and to let us know you’ll be attending Family Weekend events.
