Greetings Medical Families!

With the arrival of spring and the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines, hope is in the air! It has been a busy time at Brown, and you can be proud of all your students have accomplished.

Inside Insight
Here is what students had to say as the academic year winds down and each class prepares for what comes next:

  • MD’21: Fourth-year students were anxious leading up to Match Day on March 19. Read more.
  • MD’22: Approaching the end of their third year with just two clerkships left, many students are narrowing down their specialty choices and planning for fourth-year sub-internships, electives, OSCEs, or USLME Step 2 exams. Read more.
  • MD’23: The second-year class is in the midst of the dedicated study period to prepare for the USMLE Step 1 exam. Read more.
  • MD’24: First-year students have wrapped up the three brain sciences blocks and are now immersed in the musculoskeletal system. Read more.
  • PLME: It’s hard to believe it is already past mid-semester! Advising deans and Meiklejohn peer advisors have been meeting with first-years to discuss courses for the summer term, as pre-registration is underway for them. Read more.

In addition to student news, the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs (ODMA) shared information about a collaborative initiative that will culminate with a Black Maternal Health Week webinar on April 14. Find out more.
