Hello Medical Families!

Summertime has arrived in Providence. Since things are quieter at the Medical School and we all are ready to take a little break from our computer screens after a year of virtual “everything,” the next newsletter is planned for August. In the meantime – enjoy!

Inside Insight
The offices of Medical Education and Student Affairs have shared the following information about each class:

  • MD’22: Fourth-year medical students started their clinical rotations on May 24, and are already engaged in the early stages of the year-long residency application process. Read more.
  • MD’23: The majority of third-year medical students completed their USMLE Step 1 licensing examination by May 21. Their clinical rotations officially started on May 24. Read more.
  • MD’24: Students officially ended their first year of medical school on May 20, with the conclusion of the Supporting Structures block. Read more.
  • MD’25: The class list for incoming first-year medical students is coming together! The anticipated enrollment for MD’25 is 144 students. Read more.
  • PLME: The summer session is well underway for our first-year PLME undergraduate students. When that session ends, it will be fairly quiet for the PLME program. Read more.

The Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs (ODMA) provided a summary that includes information about the newest ODMA Fellow, the recent virtual open house, the upcoming residency fair and more. Read the ODMA update.
