Dear Medical Alumni!

Happy New Year! We hope 2021 is off to a good start.

Inside Insight
As new undergraduate students in the Program for Liberal Medical Education (PLME) begin their first on-campus semester at Brown this month, we have included a new PLME section to these monthly medical student updates. To read all student updates, click here.

Medical Reunion and Commencement Weekend 2021 Update
Given the ongoing public health situation, the joint 2021 Medical Reunion recognizing alumni who graduated in years ending in 0, 1, 5 or 6 is scheduled to take place virtually, per a letter from President Christina H. Paxson last week. We are developing programming for Medical Reunion Weekend as part of the larger University celebration, April 30-May 2. In addition, we will organize some individual class events that may fall outside of that time frame to help members of these classes reconnect.

One signature part of Medical Reunion Weekend will be a virtual presentation of Brown Medical Alumni Association (BMAA) awards to deserving alumni.

BMAA Award Nominations
It's award nomination season! We are looking to you to recognize your classmates (or yourself) for accomplishing great things. In addition to some longstanding awards sponsored by the BMAA, we are excited to announce two new awards for 2021 – the Alumni of Color Career Award and the Alumni of Color Junior Faculty Award. Click here and then again on “Awards and Honors” to read more about each award and nominate someone. The deadline to submit nominations is Monday,  March 1.
