A letter from the director
Dear Brown alumni and friends,
As Brown students anticipate Spring Weekend and alumni look forward to Reunion Weekend, the Brown Travelers 2019 schedule is in full swing. Our first five trips of the year have already returned, and four more will depart in May. And, as I write this newsletter, we are working out the details on the last few trips for 2020!
Although many of our spring and summer trips are full, there are still a few 2019 trips with space available. If you are considering traveling this fall, I encourage you to consider one of the following:
- The spectacular Sicily by Sail will take place October 10–18, 2019 on Sea Cloud II. One of the Brown Travelers’ favorite faculty lecturers — Mary Flynn, Associate Professor of Medicine, Clinical — will accompany our group. There are still a few open cabins!
- If the Grand Seine River and Normandy Passage (October 12–20, 2019) is of interest, you can still register by May 29 and save $250 per person off the full fare. This wonderful itinerary features a cruise on the M.S. Renoir.
- Our fall departure of Journey to Southern Africa proved so popular that it sold out very quickly. But we have been able to open a second departure, from November 12–27, 2019! “Early booking savings” of $250 per person are available until May 29, but this departure is also selling quickly.
And I’m happy to share that our first trip of 2020, the highly anticipated Expedition to Antarctica (January 15–28, 2020), is open for bookings! The program, which we last offered in 2018, consistently receives extremely positive reviews. If you have ever dreamed of going to this part of the world, see the trip brochure. “Early booking savings” of $1,000 per person are available if you register by June 17.
