Issue No. 4, December 2013

Dear Brown Parents,

It’s hard to believe we’re nearly halfway through the school year, with Family Weekend and Thanksgiving behind us and the fall semester drawing to a close. Following a picture-perfect Family Weekend, the Brown Corporation formally approved Building on Distinction, the strategic plan that will guide the University during President Paxson’s tenure and will immediately begin shaping and enhancing our students’ educations.

Rachel Spaulding '00

Last month, Brown welcomed a new director of the Parents Program: Rachel Spaulding ’00. Rachel’s career at Brown began shortly after her graduation and has encompassed public affairs, presidential communications, and regional advancement and programming. We are looking forward to introducing her to our vibrant parent community.

Soon, Brown students will enter winter break with a rich set of experiences to reflect upon and important decisions to make about the myriad opportunities that await them. Please consider joining us and hundreds of other parents in making a gift this season to the Parents Annual Fund to ensure the continued enrichment of their educational journeys.

We wish you and your families the happiest of holidays.

Sincerely,

James T. Janover ’86, P’15 and Marcy A. Sandler ’86, P’15
